Project Location: Canterbrook, Navan, County Meath
Project Timeline: Four days of workshop prep, one day of on-site installation
Project Scope: Complete redesign and fit out of a residential utility room, including cabinetry, integrated laundry storage, and worktop installation
Design Style: Contemporary shaker with practical layout and neutral tones
Unique Features: Tall housing for washing machine, fridge and overhead storage.
Client Goals: The client wanted to modernise their existing utility room with a cleaner layout, increased storage, and a more refined finish to complement the adjoining kitchen
Design Process: Initial site visit to measure space and assess plumbing and electrical layout. Design created in 3D CAD software to maximise storage while ensuring ease of movement. The client signed off on the layout, materials, and finishes before production began.
Initial Consultation: The client highlighted the need for somewhere to sort and store cleaning supplies, and overhead cabinets to make use of vertical space. The existing layout was cramped and lacked efficiency.
Design Development: We reconfigured the layout to stack the appliances, added full-height cabinets with internal organisation, and made use of a narrow return wall for broom and mop storage. Finishes were chosen to tie in with the kitchen while ensuring durability in a utility space.
Materials and Finishes:
Spray-painted MDF doors in light grey
Moisture-resistant cabinet interiors
Key Design Features:
A stacked washer frees up floor space
Overhead cabinetry for bulk storage
Matching panel detail to create a cohesive finish with the kitchen
This utility room fitout in Canterbrook delivered a practical and polished space that maximises function while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
